The UK Prime Minister will push partner nations to supply Ukrainian forces with further extended-range weaponry to hit Moscow's positions during talks in London on Friday.

The prime minister will host Ukraine's leader Zelensky alongside what's known as "group of committed partners", comprising more than 20 of Ukraine's allies who have committed to provide Ukraine defense assurances once a ceasefire is brokered.

Zelensky has been urging for an extended period for more advanced missile technology from allied countries, an action that the Russian government has warned would worsen the war.

Ukraine's leader is coming from Brussels, where he conferred with EU leaders on the previous day pursuing funding aid.

"The only person involved in this conflict who declines to stop the conflict is President Putin," Sir Keir said.

The Prime Minister will also reveal that 100 extra anti-aircraft missiles will be supplied to Ukraine earlier than planned, as detailed in a substantial financial arrangement reached between Britain and the Ukrainian government in spring.

Diplomatic Momentum

The Ukrainian president arrives off the back of important international achievements this week: Donald Trump's decision to enact additional restrictions against Russia, and the European Union consenting to support a Ukrainian budget hole.

Sir Keir is aiming to continue the forward movement by intensifying the leverage on the Kremlin to pursue a resolution to the conflict.

The Prime Minister will press participants to increase the supply of extended-range systems following a successful operation on a chemical plant in the Bryansk region, the Russian Federation, using Britain-delivered advanced weaponry.

"Furthermore, his horrific assaults on innocent children in a preschool in recent days make that abundantly clear," he added.

A pair of children were included in at least seven killed in a wave of enemy assaults on Ukraine, which hit a preschool facility in the second biggest city Kharkiv.

Economic Talks

Sir Keir will consult supporting countries on how to take Russia's petroleum resources from international trade.

They will also examine using seized Moscow funds to provide the Ukrainian government with economic assistance, though the proposal encountered insufficient agreement and legal hurdles at the EU conference on the previous day.

European nations stopped short of agreeing to a proposal to employ as much as €140 billion in blocked Moscow funds to economically support Ukraine.

However, the participants consented to help support Ukraine's "financial needs" for the coming 24 months.

United States also announced sanctions on recently against Moscow's biggest energy corporations, Rosneft Oil and Lukoil Corporation, as part of efforts to apply financial pressure on Russia to enter hostility discussions.

Russia began its comprehensive attack of Ukraine in winter 2022. It at this time holds about 20% of Ukrainian territory, including the southern region Russia annexed in several years ago.
